He was often up before the sun, before the morning's chaos was in motion.
But if you were in the right place at the right time, you'd catch Jason Child, leaping over the fence of the Needham MBTA line to enter DeFazio Park at 5:30 a.m., looking to get an early workout in before the school day began.
“When I was younger, I didn’t have a car yet,” Child, now a senior attackman, said. “So I had a ladder. Went over the train tracks, and then I hopped right over, and I'd play there.”
