At long last, the first championship tournament in the Independent School League is upon us.
The teams that finished with the eight best records -- minus Rivers, which had to end its season early -- are in a single-elimination tournament that begins with quarterfinal games on Wednesday and will decide the league champion for the first time ever.
"In the past you had to be great for 15 games," said Belmont Hill coach Tim Sullivan. "Now you have to be great for 11 games and then better than great."
Here's a look at the four quarterfinal matchups. The championship is Sunday.
