To Tess D’Orsi (Sudbury, Mass.), the words sounded like something she might have written just yesterday.
Only, while she wrote the words, they weren’t from a journal entry this week, this month, or even this school year in advance of Saturday’s NCAA Division 1 quarterfinal at Boston College. They were the words of a younger, hopeful Tess writing to herself in the future.
“My mother was cleaning my room recently and found a letter that I wrote to my older self in eighth grade,” the Princeton University junior attacker said. “She read it to me, and in the letter I actually wrote: ‘Maybe when you are reading this you will be playing lacrosse at an Ivy League school.’
