The MIAA season is upon us and one of the most talked-about teams is St. John’s Prep.
Head coach John Pynchon has developed a squad with multiple high-level college commits and a mission to win a Division 1 title. However, like all schools in the region, it has had to contend with a 400-plus day absence of contact with players and a re-indoctrination of team identity and principles.
“They’re really talented, they’re really athletic and they have put a lot of time and effort in,” said Pynchon. “I will say this: If this was a normal year and we had a year (of development) last year, I would be way more confident, but we scrimmaged (last week) and we couldn’t really do anything -- it’s just weird.”
