The first day of the official recruiting calendar has opened for the Class of ‘26 and there were several interesting commitments announced in the first 24 hours.
The service academies made the bulk of the commitments, as they can start officially checking players off a bit earlier than Sept. 1. The unique nature of those programs and the difficulty of meeting the criteria for admission is a big part of that difference.
However, like most years, the big schools threw their weight around and made moves to sign their guys. That’s how things have gone down for the last several years and it’s only going to get more commonplace now that NIL is a part of the recruiting scene.
Of these prospects we break down here, three are committed to Atlantic Coast Conference schools and one is verbally committed to the admissions process at an Ivy League program. But that’s not the most intriguing aspect of this group.
