Taft leads parade of 2022 commits during busy first week

It wasn’t a huge summer of showcase lacrosse, but it was enough for players like Mac Childs and Ethan Costanzo to change their recruiting trajectory.

The first week of September, starting with the Sept. 1 first contact date for boys and girls in the Class of 2022, has already seen nearly a dozen high school and prep school juniors from the region announce their verbal commitments to Division 1 programs.

Three of those players came from Taft School, which drew eyeballs by winning its 21-team session of the National High School Lacrosse Showcase in Maryland in late July, beating some top programs from the Mid-Atlantic region.
