Stephen Gaskill’s inspiring road from Harlem Lacrosse to BU

In terms of miles, Stephen Gaskill’s journey from Chelsea, Mass., where he grew up in the shadow of the Tobin Bridge, to Boston University, where he’ll enroll next year, is a short one.

In terms of what it took for him to get there, it’s practically an odyssey.

Heading into his final year at Noble and Greenough, after the two previous high schools he attended both closed, he’s not just overcome major transition and other obstacles, he’s soared over them.

“His resilience is something else,” said Rod Henriques, his coach with Harlem Lacrosse-Boston and that organization’s director of high school programming.
