
It’s not their turn right now on the COVID-19 disruption dial, but high school and prep school lacrosse players and coaches from the region are already thinking about what they might -- or might not have -- next spring.
Spring athletes were the first group to lose entire seasons as the coronavirus pandemic worsened in March and April. Now, as students return to school -- or, in many cases, virtual learning -- they’re seeing other sports seasons affected, plus schedule changes that are bleeding into next spring.
Most New England states have canceled or postponed full-contact football and placed restrictions on other fall sports. Winter sports, because they are played indoors, will face even more scrutiny as their start dates get closer.
