Coming off a 19-2 season where his program won a NESCAC tournament championship and made it to the NCAA quarterfinals, Tufts coach Casey D'Annolfo has made two new hires to his staff.
With the loss of Jon Sax, who is now the defensive coordinator at Colgate, and John Uppgren, who is still playing for the Boston Cannons but out of coaching, D'Annolfo has made additions that he feels are already starting to pay dividends.
He did not have to go far for one. Danny Murphy, the program's fourth all-time leading scorer and three-time All-American, was a captain for the Jumbos last year, and now slides right into an assistant offensive coordinator spot.
Stephen Toomy takes over with a strong resume, too, having played at Western New England and served on the staffs at North Carolina, Colgate, Harvard, and Boston University.
