In 2016, the Sacred Heart men’s team got off to an exciting start, winning two of its first three games of the season. The team then went on a 13-game losing streak. That disappointing season was the freshman year for both Joseph Cipoletti and Landon Kramer.
While their first season was rough, the team has improved since then, and the now-senior defenders have a lot to do with the optimism surrounding the 2019 season.
“The expectation every year is to do better than we did the previous season,” Sacred Heart coach Jon Basti said. “The last few years, every senior class has moved the needle forward. That’s the expectation. Knock on wood, so far, so good. We have certain goals we’re looking to accomplish, but it’s being better than we were last week and better than we were last year.”
