Rhode Island: 2019 high school state champions

The championship run keeps on going for La Salle Academy.

La Salle coach Steve O’Donnell sees it as a unique challenge every season for his team to live up to the program’s monumental successes of the past. 

Heading into 2019, his team had won seven consecutive Division 1 state titles. And, despite some extremely close contests with rival Moses Brown this year — including an early-season, triple-OT 10-9 win, another 9-8 regular-season win in OT and the crowning state-championship 7-6 victory — La Salle increased its title run to eight years.

This was the fifth year in a row that La Salle and Moses Brown met in the championship game.
