With a 15-5 victory over Moses Brown in the Division 1 championship game last month, La Salle Academy won its 10th consecutive Rhode Island state championship.
“This was a very special group of leaders that included the captains and every senior, even the ones who did not participate much,” said head coach Steve O’Donnell. “‘Buy in and battle’ was our mantra.”
While the score of the final may seem lopsided, La Salle needed to battle early on. The game was tied at four starting the third quarter.
But the entire second half belonged to the Rams -- emphatically.
