The first thing one notices about Katie Peterson is her height. At an even 6-feet, the standout Franklin (Mass.) High School junior has always been tall.
“I’ve been tall since kindergarten,” she said. “I look at pictures from back then and I’m towering over all of my friends.”
That frame may be one reason she’ll be continuing her lacrosse career at the next level, but it’s hardly the only one.
Peterson became one of the state’s first public-school commits from the Class of 2023 last week when she made her commitment to UMass. The coaches, the proximity and the business school were among the factors.
