Something new is building with Brown women’s lacrosse, and Caroline Nozzolillo (Westwood, Mass.) is excited to get in on the ground floor.
The Westwood High School junior is the first player from her high school class – and ninth player from her Mass Elite club team – to make a Division 1 commitment, which she did to Brown earlier this month.
After two decades, Brown parted ways with coach Keely McDonald in May and named former Northwestern standout and Army assistant coach Katrina Dowd to replace her.
Nozzolillo met Dowd in August during a camp in Newport, R.I., and soon after attended a camp at Brown. She was impressed with Dowd, who won three NCAA titles playing for Kelly Amonte Hiller (Hingham, Mass.) at Northwestern, as well as assistant coaches Taylor Gait and Taylor Scotton.
