Every September, the overwhelming majority of high school and prep school juniors who make their college commitments are staking a future in Division 1, often at some of the nation’s best programs.
Maddie White (Billerica, Mass.) had a different plan.
Roughly one year after her older sister, Abby, made her commitment to continue her lacrosse career at Merrimack, Maddie, a junior defender, decided where her future would lie: at Division 2 Assumption.
“I’d thought about other schools and gone to other camps, but when I got to Assumption I loved it. I liked the Division 2 feel. You get to focus on lacrosse but on other things, too.”
