Being a goalie can be a lonely job.
It can be especially lonely when you’re the only goalie on your team, which was the case for Groton School junior Eliza Brooks her first two years at the school.
“That can be tough,” said Groton coach Julia Rowland. “A lot of people prefer having a ‘goalie world’ to be part of. But she never complained. I’d ask her to step out of a drill sometimes and it was always, ‘No. I’m good.’”
Brooks’ dedication to her craft has earned her a commitment to Boston University, one she made after taking an official visit last month.
