Haley Carver has been competitive for as long as she can remember.
“It’s always been a part of my personality,” she said. “I grew up doing a bunch of different sports. I was a gymnast and that’s an individual sport, but lacrosse is so great because you get to compete together.”
Carver, a junior midfielder at Andover (Mass.) High School, has spent the last couple years competing at two different levels of the sport.
She’s had to balance playing on talented Mass Elite teams that annually send players on to NCAA powers, with playing for Andover, where most of the girls on the team don’t consider lacrosse their first sport.
