Every recruiting story is a journey. Ava Harris knows now that even when that journey veers way off line, it can also find its way to a good destination.
A junior at Cheshire (Conn.) High School, Harris became the first ‘23 from her Nor’easter club team to make a Division 1 commitment when she verbaled to Bucknell late last month.
One thing significant is that she’s continuing a family tradition. An uncle, Dave Heumann, was an All-American at Hofstra in the '90s; another uncle, Steve Heumann, played at Rutgers.
But even more significant is her perseverance these last couple years, triumphing over both injuries and the pandemic.
