Division 1 recruiting has been in a “dead period” since the current high school juniors were sophomores, and that will extend through at least April 15, 2021.
It’s nearly impossible to find a corner of the sports world that COVID-19 hasn’t touched since March and lacrosse recruiting is no exception. Still, at last count, nearly 100 boys and more than 50 girls from the region’s Class of 2022 had made their verbal commitments.
A dead period prohibits college coaches from in-person recruiting, so several of these commitments were made without the player meeting the college head coach personally, and in some cases with them not even setting foot on campus.
