Our third trip through the state-by-state Division 1 recruiting numbers has forced a union of three very different regions of New England.
While it may have seemed in our last post that New Hampshire was light on D-1 talent, it was wildly productive compared to other smaller states like Maine, Vermont and Rhode Island.
There are many reasons for the smaller D-1 commitment numbers from these three states, but the most prevalent one is population density. Simply put, those three states can’t really compete with Massachusetts or Connecticut when it comes to the sheer amount of players on teams.
Add in a dearth of super-talented club teams that have developed D-1 talent and you have the current reality.
