The start of the recruiting season for current high school juniors officially began on Sept. 1. The early commitments were slow to start, but have picked up steam since.
Through the first three weeks of September, seven players from the region’s public schools have made their commitments to Division 1 programs, to go with a couple dozen from the area’s prep schools.
Others are sure to follow.
“I think it’s a frenzy now,” said Boston College High School coach Marcus Craigwell. “College coaches are super-aggressive this year. A lot of them are really loading up their recruiting classes.”
