Standing before a silent version of ‘The Big House’ at the University of Michigan was almost eerie. The image of playing wide receiver in front 100,000-plus fans was enticing. It was Big Ten football, after all.
But sometimes you just have to go with your instinct, with what you feel is best. For Quintin O’Connell (New Canaan, Conn.), that choice was to remain with the sport he’s dominated since childhood, to play Division 1 lacrosse at the University of North Carolina next year.
“It was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make,” O’Connell told New England Lacrosse Journal. “But something I always took to know and took into account is that sports can only take you, bring you so far in life. But in the end, your college experience is not just sports. So I just tried to step away from getting caught up in the sport, and tried to pick the best school for me.”
