During lacrosse season, it’s a daily grind, even before practice starts.
Sisters Quinlan and Reagan O’Brien, and the rest of their lacrosse teammates at Boston Latin School, know the routine well. But getting from the school to the practice field at Joe Moakley Park in Southie is still an hour-long ordeal with a lot of variables.
It starts with a dash to the Ruggles stop on the Orange Line, carrying their lacrosse equipment and anything else they brought to school.
Then it’s switching trains at Park Street, and taking the Red Line to the JFK/UMass stop. Then a half-mile walk to the field.
“It’s definitely a journey just to get to practice,” said Reagan O’Brien, a junior. “There’s a lot of different moving parts.
