Bill Daye is a name that many people heard for years on the sidelines of Boston Cannons games.
First, as a player when the franchise was launched in 2001, and later as the first coach to deliver an MLL championship to the team in 2011.
Daye is a player’s coach. Professional lacrosse players have been trying to get him to come back to coach in the pro ranks for years. But it was a prep school program that lured him back to the sidelines.
Thayer Academy hired Daye to replace Ben Rubeor in late January, after Rubeor chose to pursue other non-lacrosse opportunities.
