One of the most talked-about freshman long-pole prospects in the region is Boston University freshman Donald Varnerin (Westwood, Mass.).
Eschewing what has become the typical route for players from Westwood, Varnerin chose to play his lacrosse for Westwood High School instead of attending a prep or private school.
As a result, he developed into a truly multi-faceted LSM, staying on the field for most of the game to the point where he was playing man-up for the Wolverines. He’s a one-man army with a six-foot stick.
