Bo Minogue is a true two-way midfielder who recently committed to Lafayette. He is a rising senior at reigning MIAA Division 1 champion St. John’s Prep (Mass.), where he will be stepping into a larger role on the offensive side of the ball.
However, the most interesting thing about Minogue is how malleable and effective he is as a midfielder in the modern game. His physicality, speed and endurance are exceptional. In one game that I saw him play this past summer for his club team, the N.E. Twisters, Minogue was on the field for nearly 10 straight minutes, constantly working to get the ball to his team, then helping them move the ball around on offense.
He went up on offense and back on defense twice in one half without a break. When he came off the field and took off his helmet, he was barely sweating.
That’s a Division 1 athlete, and the kind of player that every coach wants on his roster.
