After a nearly-nine month wait, Division 1 women's lacrosse is back.

Seven programs get their 2019 seasons underway on opening weekend, while others will follow suit two Fridays and Saturdays from now. Beyond the region, a slew of New England-based players are also set to begin their campaigns.

The dates circled on every team's calendar are May 24 and 26, which marks the national semifinals and final in Baltimore, Md. Boston College has reached the latter game the last two seasons, but lost to Maryland and James Madison in back-to-back years.

With the scene set, New England Lacrosse Journal has your weekend preview to kickstart 2019. Here are five games to watch for with a regional focus.
