A familiar face has been on the sideline of Phillips Exeter Academy.
Matt Callahan joined the school as an assistant director of admissions last summer and has just recently taken over as the head coach of the boys lacrosse team from longtime coach Bill Glennon.
”It was always a dream to go back to Exeter,” said Callahan. “I had a great experience as a student-athlete here and I always dreamt of going back to Exeter, and being able to be a coach and work in the community. To be able to do it at my age has just been a real blessing -- it’s a place where you can build incredible relationships.”
Glennon had been the head coach of the program since 2014 and an assistant coach for several years prior. With this change, he will go back to being an assistant, a role he had when Callahan played for Exeter before departing for his college education at Tufts.
