In 2021, a storm was brewing in Watertown, Conn.
The Taft School went 8-2 in a shortened regular season before heading to Washington, D.C., for GEICO Nationals on the last two days of May.
Prior to the 2021 iteration of the four-team tournament, the Rhinos had never been to the event since its inception in 2017.
But Taft didn’t need any prior experience to reach the mountaintop, as it donned the crown after sneaking past Culver Academy Prep (Ind.) in the semifinals and downing the previously undefeated St. John’s (D.C.) powerhouse.
