All 12 Division 1 men’s lacrosse teams in New England (excluding those in the Ivy League) have opened their seasons, including UMass, which took down Fairfield, 13-9, in its season and CAA opener on Sunday.
The game marked the first for UMass in 368 days, dating back to the final one of the 2020 campaign, but it wasn’t the only team from the region that impressed. Vermont took down a ranked opponent and Boston University was dominant against Patriot League rival Holy Cross.
Each week at laxjournal.com, we will review the week that was, look ahead to what’s next and unveil updated power rankings of the top 10 teams in the region.
