Every year it feels like it’s too early for NESCAC power rankings. After all, most of the teams don’t even have their 2023 rosters posted yet.
But as with all lists and rankings, we can extrapolate and establish expectations based on the data we have.
Last year’s preseason rankings were far less accurate than this one may be since several teams elected not to participate in the season prior and/or had new coaches take over their programs. This year we have one new coach in Bates’ Dan Annino, but otherwise, there have been minimal shake-ups other than the odd (err, expected -- this is the NESCAC after all) graduation.
So with that being said, let’s take a closer look at where we rank the NESCAC schools going into the 2023 season. Part 2 will be posted next week.
