Conference play is opening or continuing for most of the region’s teams, and several are handling it expertly.
Fairfield hasn’t lost in MAAC play yet, winning all five of its matchups. Neither has Vermont in America East, with a 3-0 record as it prepares for a big test Wednesday against UMass. UConn opened Big East play with two wins at Marquette over the weekend.
During a week that saw overtime heroics from Desiree Kleberg of Quinnipiac and Rylee Leonard (Coventry, R.I.) of New Hampshire, there was some shuffling in our power rankings.
