There's been a fine line separating victory and defeat this spring for many Division 1 teams in our region.
Take UMass, for instance. The region’s preseason No. 1 team and pick to win the CAA begins this week with a pedestrian record of 3-3. All three of their losses, two of them in conference play, came by a single goal.
On the flip side there’s Quinnipiac. Dylan Donnery’s double-overtime game-winner ended a thriller of a contest against Manhattan on Saturday; thanks to a pair of one-goal wins this spring, and one by two goals, the Bobcats are sitting pretty in the MAAC with a 3-1 mark.
