CHESTER, Pa. – The Archers won their first-ever Premier Lacrosse League championship by defeating the Waterdogs, 15-14, in a thrilling end to the championship game and season on Sunday.
The season literally went down to the last second, with Archers goalie Brett Dobson saving Jake Carraway's two-point shot with half a second remaining.
As fans in New England await to see if a PLL team will call the region home – Boston and Connecticut were named finalists to be the future home base of one of the league’s eight teams – there were several players and coaches from the area that played large roles in both the title game and season as a whole.
