The Pingree School has a nice nucleus returning heading into the 2020 season, and one of its key contributors from this past spring's New England Small School Tournament champion just committed to Syracuse.
Kyle McCarthy, a junior defenseman from Peabody (Mass.), made that pledge, so we reached out to Pingree coach Kevin Tersolo to get the lowdown on the type of player the Orange are getting.
(On McCarthy's size, which Tersolo reports is about 5-foot-11, 6-feet, 185 pounds)
"He's a good size. He's already good-sized, but the stronger that he can get, the more dangerous he will be. He's already an overwhelming player when it comes to taking up his defensive spot on the field. But he's been really living in the weight room in the offseason."
