When Jiwon Kim was in high school researching colleges, he knew he wanted to do something in sports and potentially something in journalism. If he could play lacrosse, that would be a bonus.
Every time he started a search with that criteria, Emerson College was the top return. The first time he saw the Division 3 school on his list of matches, he looked up the team’s schedule and saw they hadn’t won a single game the previous season.
“Maybe not here,” he told himself.
When he would redo the searches, however, Emerson continued to pop up. He felt it might be something he needed to consider.
