For the region's two teams in the Patriot League, the 2021 season meant a return to the field -- but also unfinished business.
Boston University's uneven season saw it race ahead at Colgate in the league tournament quarterfinals, but concede the final three goals in a 15-13 loss that ended its season with a 4-6 record.
Things were tougher at Holy Cross, whose women's and men's teams saw their seasons shut down in mid-April for what the school termed "a violation of team standards and of the College's COVID-19 ... protocols."
