Wednesday marks the first full day of games in the Northeast-10 Conference, with 13 of the league's 14 women's teams in action, all but three of them playing their season openers.
It's a league that's been dominated in recent years by out-of-region programs like Adelphi and LeMoyne, but four teams from the region are ranked in the current IWLCA coaches' poll: No. 15 New Haven, No. 16 Assumption and Bentley (tied), and No. 18 St. Anselm.
The league's teams have been split into two divisions based on geography this season: the Northeast and the Southwest.
