Under a backdrop of uncertainty, Major League Lacrosse held its annual Collegiate Draft on Monday night, with four of the six first-round selections claiming New England ties.
The Cannons, holding the No. 4 overall pick, chose Syracuse defender Nick Mellen, a two-time All-American and defensive leader on a team that finished the abbreviated college season ranked No. 1.
