Throughout the season, one word defined the New Canaan (Conn.) girls lacrosse team:
More.
“The kids just kept saying, ‘We’re not stopping. We want more,’” said head coach Kristin Woods. “In the (Class LL championship) game they were like, ‘We want more goals. We want more stops. We want more groundballs and draw controls.’”
The Rams got more of rival Darien, squaring off against the Blue Wave for the state championship for the third consecutive season. Two weeks prior, New Canaan had defeated Darien in the FCIAC final; in the Class LL title game, the Rams won again, 10-5.
