NEPSAC Notebook: Avon Old Farms coming off strong week

Top 10 teams included

A new era is here for the boys varsity lacrosse team at Avon Old Farms, and the Winged Beavers are learning that nothing is given in the NEPSAC.

After all, gone is head coach Skip Flanagan, and attackman Darien Cook (Redding, Conn.) and midfielder Doug Pike have stepped into integral roles at Brown. Nicholas DeMaio, a five-star attackman, never even stepped on the field this spring, joining Maryland midway through the school year.

Step in Keith Lee as head coach, and new leaders have emerged. Senior attackman Owen Murphy (Medfield, Mass.), a Johns Hopkins commit, and Providence College commits in goalkeeper Will Collin (Marblehead, Mass.) and faceoff specialist Cullen Young (Maynard, Maine) are among those pillars.
