Needham saved the best for last

Needham caps emotional season with defensive gem against Longmeadow to claim Division 1 title

By Craig FordeJuly 1, 2017

Needham started its season with a loss to Franklin and, following a 7-6 loss to Concord-Carlisle in its seventh game of the season, carried a middling 4-3 record.

That was the launching point, from which the Rockets took off.

On April 21, they took down a strong North Andover team, 14-7, and never looked back, rattling off 18 consecutive wins to earn a spot in the Division 1 championship game against Longmeadow.
