While Matt Gaudet, the Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA tournament, and winning freshman goalie Jack Starr will be back in blue next season, Yale’s national title was the perfect goodbye party for the seniors.
Led by Tewaaraton Award winner Ben Reeves, the Bulldogs had one of the deepest senior classes in the country to help lead them to the title.
"To finally get that monkey off our back, we felt like this year we had a special group and that we’d be able to do it," shortstick defensive midfielder Tyler Warner said. "Getting bounced in the first round (the last few years), it was tough. But it’s all worth it now."
Warner and Chris Keating (Windham, N.H.) helped head the defensive group as two of the 11 seniors to go out on top.
