Fourteen years before she was appointed as the head coach at Boston College, a seismic-shift moment in Division 1 women’s lacrosse, a 15-year-old Acacia Walker-Weinstein was the youngest player on the U.S. National Under-19 team in 1999.
On Thursday her career came full circle, to a degree.
Walker-Weinstein was appointed by USA Lacrosse to be the head coach of the U.S. Women's National Team for the next two-year cycle. Her appointment will run through the World Lacrosse Women's Championship in Japan in 2026.
One of her goals? To get fans excited.
