SUDBURY, Mass. -- The Division 1 champions of the smallest state in the region packed quite a punch at the New England Lacrosse Showcase this week.
While a lot of the other teams that attended the showcase were rolling out new players in new positions, it seemed La Salle Academy (R.I.) was already in midseason form.
The Rams were systematic on offense and defense. Nothing happened by accident and everyone knew where to be -- and if they didn't they were reminded on the sideline the next time they visited the box. Opposing teams mostly scored on them because of turnovers, on man-up, or during broken plays.
It's easy to see why coach Steve O'Donnell's team was so dominant this past spring in winning its 10th straight title.
