SUDBURY, Mass. -- The MIAA Division 1 champions came to the New England Lacrosse Showcase last week with nothing to prove. Though the Eagles of St. John's Prep were without their senior leadership that guided them to the 2021 title, there was still plenty of talent on the roster.
Coach John Pynchon’s squad went 3-2 overall with wins over Concord-Carlisle and Webster-Thomas (N.Y.) early on in the week. A two-goal loss to Darien (Conn.) was a portent of things to come, but the Eagles picked up a third win in a tight, 9-8 tilt against a good Lincoln-Sudbury team.
However, a loss to Darien followed in the quarterfinals, ending their week.
