Jillian Reilly sat in a giant Boston College lecture hall with hundreds of her fellow student-athletes awaiting answers as they collectively faced a palpable uncertainty.
The school had announced that the rest of the student body had been told to not return to campus with the remainder of the academic year being switched online due to the coronavirus pandemic. But the athletes were there on March 12 as the exceptions. Things would be different when it came to living quarters, meals and fans at events, they were led to believe, but there would at least be things.
Or so they thought when they walked into the hall.
