ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Connecticut Hammerheads are in the win column.
Goalie Sean Sconone stopped 15 of the 23 shots he faced, and the Hammerheads kept their Major League Lacrosse playoff hopes alive with a weather-delayed, 10-8 win over the New York Lizards at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium on Wednesday.
This was a defensive battle all the way to the end and Connecticut (1-2) got hot at the right time to seal it down the stretch. Sconone, who starred at UMass, was strong in net and the captain knew he had to play well in order to win the most meaningful game for the Hammerheads to date.
