Maryland future awaits Mike Roche, but first unfinished business

Mike Roche vividly remembers the day he received the call.

The North Andover, Mass., lacrosse sensation was at home when the phone rang. As soon as he heard the voice on the other end, he knew his life was about to change – for good.

Roche had just been offered a scholarship from Maryland head coach John Tillman, completing a dream he’d been chasing since childhood.

“It was definitely an exciting moment,” said Roche, now a senior midfielder.
