Emma McDonagh has been on both ends of the emotional spectrum when it comes to national championship games.
As a Middlebury College freshman, the Reading, Mass., native contributed a dozen goals as her team went 22-1 and won the program’s sixth Division 3 title.
Two years later, she was a star as a junior, a 54-goal scorer on a team that again reached the championship game but absorbed an 11-9 loss to Gettysburg.
That’s what made the final game of her stellar career so special.
